Response received from BBC today with regard to Eurovision

Thank you for your e mail regarding the 'Eurovision Song Contest'. Whilst I was pleased to read of your interest in the shows presenter Terry Wogan, I note that you feel the format and the UK entry need to be made more contemporary. While we appreciate that the show is not to everyone's taste, it is one of the longest-running television programmes in the world and is still also one of the most-watched non-sporting events in the world. The BBC has an obligation to our audience to bring coverage of exciting contests such as this to BBC Television. However, please be assured that your comments and suggestions have been registered and drawn to the attention of senior management and programme makers concerned. Feedback of this nature helps us when making decisions about future BBC programmes and services and your views will play a part in this process.Your interest in the BBC is appreciated, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

I do not think this really answered my question.

The results are out, our performance was poor. Let's plan now for 2008

We have less than twelve months to work on a strategy to win Eurovision so let us get started now. We need ideas and views to help us win. Do we need to split the United Kingdom up to get more countries to vote together, creating our own British Isles block? Should we have voted for Ireland out of loyalty? Do we need to change our style of entry? We are famous for being pioneers for music. Why did we not have a young band with a good song as an entry? We need views and we need a strategy for a Western European country to capture the trophy.
